A.P new port, Ramayapatnam and Nakkapalli competitors for Second major port

Dugarajapatnam port chances very less...
Nakkapalli
The study on setting up major sea port in A.P has begun. A high-level committee appointed by the central government visited Nakkapalli one of the proposed sites here to study the technical and commercial possibilities of the new port.
Ramayapatnam
Committee visited Nakkapalli to identify a suitable location to set up the new port. New port needs a approximately 5,000 acres land. Committee verifies the availability of land, requirement of dredging, connectivity and environmental aspect.
Nakkapalli has too advantages than the other two proposed locations of Duggarajapatnam and Ramayapatnam. Nakkapalli coast has a draft of 18-20 metres from the coast, which is a major factor in deciding the location, This would lessen the dredging cost.
Duggarajapatnam
After Nakkapalli, Duggarajapatnam in Nellore district and Ramayyapatnam in Prakasam district are also selected for the survey for the major port in the state.
